The study reveals that 1 in 3 Gen Z workers are too scared to use the office bathroom

They are literally “a little” scared.

For a generation that likes to express its emotions, Gen Z holds a lot inside. One in three Zoomers dreads using the office bathroom, according to a recent study by online bathroom equipment supplier QS Supplies.

The UK-based retailer surveyed more than 1,000 employees about their workplace break habits and calculated the impact of bathroom breaks on company productivity.

They discovered that a surprising number of office workers are reserved to go number two in their occupation station. According to the study, one in 12 employees has never come to work, while 34% are afraid to use the facilities.

Meanwhile, nearly one in five workers – around 19% – refuse to go to their workplace altogether, while one in four choose to hold off until they get home.

Growers are the generation most likely to engage in the bathroom stall-ing, marking one of the myriad ways 20s struggle in the workplace.

Eleven percent of Gen Z workers claim they have never gone out to work, while 36% are said to be afraid to do so.

There is also a gender disparity with the children’s departure in the office pool. Almost half of women are afraid to defecate at work (48%) compared to only 19% of men.

As for the reasons why employees are so toilet shy, lack of privacy was the biggest concern among employees (59%), followed by smell embarrassment (57%) and then noise concerns (47%).

Many employees claimed that wearing it caused them to suffer from various health problems, including stomach upset, increased stress and even constipation.

Despite the sheer number of people heeding the doody’s call, firms still find themselves flushing money down the toilet due to staff bathroom breaks.

According to research, companies lose an average of $3,565 per remote employee, while $2,833 per office worker goes to the bathroom each year due to time spent in the bathroom during the hour.

Often, employees simply use bathroom breaks as an excuse to take a break – one in five reportedly use it for this purpose.
