They are turning their noses up OVER in natural appearance.
Hot people are attacking a Turkish plastic surgeon for what is considered a “Whoville” nose job.
And just in time for the holidays.
“Ok, now that’s cool,” said a virtual fan of rhinoplasty doctor Ferda Erol under a trending TikTok makeover, apparently inspired by Dr. Seuss “How the Grinch Stole Christmas”.
The viral video features before and after footage of Erol’s works. She reshapes a female patient’s pointy nose into a Cindy Lou Who-esque centerpiece—upside down and all.
“I in a row [please]”, pleaded one particular beauty fan under Erol’s content, which has amassed over 4 million views from raving viewers, including lovers and loathers of the controversial cut.
Erol has racked up tens of millions of views featuring shocking before-and-after clips of her work, creating slopes that would give the Grinch himself nightmares.
While it passed the sniff test with flying colors for some, Whoville nose haters couldn’t hold their tongues.
“Is this illegal?” asked one cynic, as other cruel commentators compared her patient’s new nose to that of Miss Piggy and Michael Jackson.
Despite the naysayers, this is the surgery of the season.
As the sun sets on the cosmetic crazes of yesteryear, such as the DIY mini nose job and the buzzy Barbie nose job, the unofficially titled Whoville chop may rise as a must-have for glamor girls. lists, judging by the flows of doctors abroad.
In fact, rhinoplasty, as a whole, is emerging as a trendy gift request among young women online, according to a recent report from the American Society of Plastic Surgeons.
Rod Rohrich, a plastic surgeon in the Dallas area, explained that “social media plays a major role in this trend, along with wider acceptance by peers and the public.”
“Platforms like Instagram and Snapchat, where visuals take precedence, often set unrealistic standards of beauty,” added doc. “These platforms showcase a world where aesthetic perfection seems attainable and this greatly influences young minds towards cosmetic procedures like rhinoplasty.”
But Dr. Anthony Youn of Michigan warns that Whoville embellishment may be taking the trend too far.
Evaluating Errol’s nose reconstruction via YouTube, Youn, a holistic plastic surgeon, notes that the patient had only a small deformity of the dorsal hump — or a bump — on her pharynx, before the surgery.
“If she came to see me for a nose job, I’d probably shave off that bump a bit,” said the professional. “And, frankly, that’s probably about it.”
Youn went on to explain that Erol rotated the tip of the patient’s nose “anteriorly,” severely tilting her nasolabial angle—the area between the nose and upper lip—up.
“In a woman, the ideal angle is believed to be between 95 and 105 degrees,” he said. “Now, this patient’s English, post-surgery, is much more than that.”
“Actually,” continued the expert, “I measured it at 123 degrees.” And that’s why her nose looks like it’s so upturned.”
Youn, who arguably stopped performing nose jobs a decade ago, said his strategy was to make “minor adjustments” to a beak, giving patients their desired changes while leaving them with “the essence of the beginning of the nose,” he said. .
“If you’re thinking about getting a nose job or any plastic surgery, you should be very careful when choosing,” Youn advised.
“See their before and after photos and videos and make sure their results match what you’re looking for.”
