In these airports, IPA stands for “Insanely Expensive Ale.”

Fancy a cold one before your flight? You may want to avoid these New York airports, which are among the most expensive in America when it comes to buying a beer.

A new study from Finance Buzz analyzed “regular-sized” domestic macrobrewers — like Budweiser and Coors — at the 50 busiest U.S. airports to determine which ones pay the most.

This study comes as the average price of an airport beer has increased by 21%. dancing from $7.42 in 2023 to $8.97 today due to inflation.

Beer drinkers won’t be upset knowing they can buy almost an entire case of beer for that price.

A 24-pack of Bud Light and Miller Lite beers costs an average of $16.72 in New York state, according to a separate 2024 study — less than $3 more than the price of a single beer at LaGuardia.

In 2021, the company that operates restaurants and shops at the airport went bust selling a Sam Adams Summer Ale for $27.85.

Meanwhile, the Finance Buzz report found that San Francisco International Airport ($12.61) and Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport ($11.99) had the second and third most expensive beers, respectively.
